Mercy College Library stands as a beacon of knowledge and learning, with its motto emphasizing the maximum utilization of current information sources and enrichment with updated knowledge. Its mission is to make the most of existing resources while continually acquiring new information sources to support the educational journey of its users.

The library is a central hub for cultural and educational growth at Mercy College. As new areas of  knowledge emerge across various fields, the library plays a crucial role in thecolleg’s curriculum, ensuring that students and faculty have access to the latest information and resources.

The Mercy College Library was established in 1964 and has since seen significant developments. In January 1992, a new block known as ‘EKATHA’ was added to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the college. Further transformation took place in 2005-06, resulting in a modernized library that was completed in 2006. This refurbishment included the addition of numerous books and journals and the implementation of a fully automated library system with an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) facility. This development ensures that both students and faculty can efficiently meet their informational needs.

The library is equipped with wired network connectivity, allowing users to access resources seamlessly. Additionally, it is computerized with the BOOK MAGIC 5.0 software,  providing an online catalogue search facility to enhance the user experience.

The library is open from Monday to Saturday, operating between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, offering ample time for users to explore and utilize its resources.

Library membership is available to all staff, students, and research scholars at Mercy College Palakkad. Guest faculties must complete a membership form, which requires the Principal’s signature, to borrow books. The library also extends its resources to alumni and members of other institutions, provided they have prior permission from the Principal.
